Self-Knowing Is Learning Negatively

The most difficult thing for humans to do is to be self-knowing. We all think we know ourselves, and that may be so, as far as self-knowledge goes. But self-knowledge and self-knowing are completely different things, and very few people are self-knowing.

What is the difference? Self-knowledge is based on experience, and is accumulative. I learn about myself from ‘my experiences,’ gathered over time, which builds up an image of who I am.

The problem is that the image is never who and what I actually am. The image is an idea or picture of oneself, never the actuality.

Self-knowledge is a function of memories, images and ideas, which are inevitably of the past. Whereas self-knowing is of the present, and negative. Not in the usual sense of the word – unconstructive, unhelpful and pessimistic. Rather, with the accent on the second syllable – ne-ga’-tive – to unlearn.

How can unlearning what we think we know about ourselves reveal what we actually are, and can be?

Images and ideas are never the living truth, but become fixed as we grow older, and ruts become the norm. Flexibility and freedom are denied. So the more we think we know ourselves, the less freedom we actually have.

It isn’t a matter of having choices, of being able to choose to be this or that, which is the primary conceit of this awful culture. When we are self-knowing, there are choices, but there is no choosing or chooser. Freedom of choice, much less the freedom of the chooser, is an illusion, because the chooser is always conditioned and confused.

So if there is no enduring individual self, is there an enduring individual soul? There’s a paradox here, since with the negation of the self, the human spirit grows and takes flight. That’s the meaning of “Whosoever would save his life, shall lose it.”

Disregarding the double talk from the East about a “Higher Self,” the self is a construct of conditioning and experience, whereas the soul pertains to the essence of character and heart. Therefore self-knowing pertains not to the self, but to the soul.

It’s been months, but I made it to the canyon and gorge beyond town for a long meditation and a short hike before the likely last measurable rain of the year. The hillsides are already browning; California could be in for another bad fire season.

The orange poppies and blue and white lupines were gone, but buttercup, scotch broom, elegant brodiaea, yellow Mariposa lily, Ithurial’s spear and bluebottle were in bloom.

A lone Canadian goose stood on the edge of the gorge less than 200 meters across from where I sat and honked for the better part of an hour. Perhaps I was sitting at its favorite perch, but its honking didn’t bother as it was nearly drowned out by the whitewater reverberating from below.

Vultures soared by at eye level so close that every feather and feature could be seen. They are strange birds, ever watchful and graceful, not at all like their image. In an hour and half, I saw only two people in the distance, plus three friendly college girls passing by on the rocky path to my left.

After nearly an hour, the accumulations of the past year came to the surface. Non-judgmentally and non-reactively attending to them, they dissolved, allowing one to be present in all-inclusive solitude with the beauty around one.

We resign to the idea that “pain lasts, grief lasts, anger lasts,” when it is the idea that makes them last. And we resign to “the realization of human brokenness, the recognition of things lost that can’t be regained, and the emptiness that holds their place.” Why?

It’s psychologically, philosophically and spiritually a mistake of the highest order to say, “Emotions circle, vulturelike, around one’s thoughts, nourished by attention.” (Italics mine.)

Though it’s another paradox (not a contradiction), attention does not nourish emotions and thoughts, but extinguishes memory and hurt, and heals the mind and heart.

The idea is deeply conditioned in this culture that fully acknowledging a harm or injustice is “negative;” looking at and remaining with a difficult or disturbing thing strengthens it; and attending to thoughts and emotions feeds them.

That’s because what is often called attention is merely self-centered focus, a concentration on my hurt — the real and imagined harms that others have done to me. That’s not attention, but self-centered concentration on my victimhood.

After the better part of an hour’s passive observation, and simply letting the senses delight in the life around one, undirected attention sufficiently gathers to quiet the mind and bring peace to the heart.

The visible beauty of the Earth, and the ineffable beauty that lies beyond sensory perception, envelop one.

US Warns Travelers Not to Go to Costa Rica Due to Covid

The United States has, once again, recommended that its citizens do not visit Costa Rica because of covid-19. Since October, Costa Rica was at a level 3 warning, “reconsider travel due to covid-19,” but now it is at level 4, “Do not travel.”

Level 4 is the maximum warning category. The reason behind the State Department and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) moving Costa Rica to a level 4 is the recent increase in covid-19 cases.

For four consecutive days, there have been over 1,000 cases every 24 hours. On Wednesday, there were 1,069, on Thursday, 1,121, on Friday, 1,044, and on Saturday, 1,060. While there was a slight drop to 664 and 536 on Sunday and Monday, respectively, on Tuesday the number was up again to 1,130. Last week was the week with the highest number of cases in the last three months. There were 6,186 new infections.

The CDC stated that even fully vaccinated individuals could contract and spread variants of the coronavirus in Costa Rica.

80% of all countries are currently at level 4.

Will Cannabis Sales & Growth Be Legal in Costa Rica?

The head of the PAC has proposed an interesting law that would regulate free cannabis use. If passed, this would allow the production and commercialization in Costa Rica and also exports.

It would allow for the use of cannabis in Costa Rica in all its forms, with the only limitation being that it couldn’t be smoked in places that don’t allow the smoking of tobacco.

Similar initiatives were beneficial in Uruguay, Mexico, Canada, and 16 states in the U.S.

Sales of cannabis and its derivatives could reach ₡100,000 million annually, or 0.32% of the GDP. That would mean it carries more weight in the gross domestic product than coffee, sugar, tobacco, bananas, and pineapple.

It would also create many job opportunities. Licenses would be given mainly to small and medium agricultural producers who are registered and regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

Having a legal framework to grow and sell this product responsibly would lower drug trafficking and crime as well as problems from laced products sold on the street. The origin of plants, seeds, parts, and by-products would be traceable and safer.

Recalling Neanderthals This Earth Day

Did you know that Neanderthals actually had bigger brains than we Homo saps? They clearly did not possess symbolic thought however, just “purely intuitive insight” as paleoanthropologists ambiguously put it.

More to the point, “The Neanderthals did not live, as we do, in a world of their own making, reconstructed in their minds, but in the world as nature presented it to them.”

No sentence ripples with greater implications for this, the sum of all dark ages. Cue the QAnon crazies.

I don’t mean to focus on QAnon people as exceptions to the rule, but as extreme examples of the rule. So what is the rule?

As humans, we live in worlds of our own making, reconstructed in our minds. Reification served our species well as long as myth, ritual and tradition reminded us that we’re actually part of nature, not separate from it.

But once the Agricultural and Industrial, much less Digital Revolutions took hold, our self-made realities became increasingly divorced from the actualities of nature that we’re embedded within.

Thus QAnon crazies aren’t exceptions to the rule of human rationality, but the logical end of human irrationality.

The tendency to believe what we want to believe, irrespective of evidence, has been a feature of human nature since time immemorial. Until our age however, there was a check, internally and/or externally imposed, on how far we could depart from the truth.

The universe experiments, and so should we, not just scientifically. Apparently, the experiment in consciousness that was the Neanderthals dead-ended about 40,000 years ago in Gibraltar, the last holdout of their species. Will the experiment in consciousness that is Homo sapiens also dead end, despite our numbers, and our science and technology?

Many people now believe so, and many even misanthropically hope so. Others take false refuge in the knowledge that at every juncture of history that we know of, people have felt that time was running out, and theirs were the ‘end times.’

Now that it may truly be so, gauging from the man-made, planetary ecological crisis, people are taking false refuge in the fact that many generations before us have been wrong. The irony is that it appears that this is the first time people have done that — taken comfort in people having been wrong before!

Scientists and most philosophers tend to dismiss teleology – the idea that there may be an intrinsic direction, however much randomness in evolution — out of hand. But that’s closed-minded, given the irrefutable evidence of the “fine tuning” of the universe for life (discounting the dodgy idea of the multiverse), and the emergence of consciousness.

So if Neanderthals were a dead-end in nature’s experiment in consciousness on Earth, and Homo sapiens threatens to be another dead-end, will other potentially intelligent species after us make the grade?

Unlikely. On this planet at least, the experiment in consciousness probably ends, or breaks through with us. So what is the next step/leap in consciousness, and can we consciously, non-scientifically/technologically bring it about?

People unknowingly brought about the Cognitive Revolution about 100,000 years ago, allowing “fully modern humans” to emerge. So is the human brain now ready for full consciousness to emerge?

With respect to the Cognitive Revolution, a mutation apparently occurred and spread very quickly in all Homo sapiens populations, from Africa to Europe and Asia, within a matter of generations. With respect to the Insight Revolution, given the complete interconnectedness of human populations, and the meaninglessness of racial differences, it could happen much faster.

Igniting insight within oneself, not as a separate dividual but as true in-dividual, is therefore the urgent responsibility of every living human being with the capacity, space and time to do so.

What exactly constitutes the transition from humans to human beings?

Difficult as it is to actually bring about within oneself, I feel it’s contained in this question: Can the brain be anchored in attention and silence without a center, rather than symbol and memory in self-centeredness, as it has been for tens of thousands of years?

Surely that’s the next step/leap in human evolution and consciousness, if we take it. And contrary to what many Buddhists believe, we don’t have an unlimited number of chances to change course, as individuals or a species.

All told, we can’t know if this is our last chance to change course, but we damn well better treat it as if it is.

Night Terror at the Mayfair Hotel

Previously, I wrote about the haunted Mayfair Hotel and you can see that article here at the Costa Rican Times:www.costaricantimes.com/los-angeles-haunted-cecil-mayfair-hotels/48555
Below, Johanna “Joey” Peterson read my article about the Mayfair Hotel after she had her own terrifying experience at the hotel.  I asked Joey to write her story via an email to me.  Her story is exceptionally captivating and when I read her story, it gave me chills right down my spine.  I will let Joey tell her story, see below:

“Hi Paul, I wanted to reach out to you because I had a horrifying night staying at The Mayfair in LA. I hadn’t read about the hotel before staying there so I had no idea about the ghosts. I also met the lost boy before I left. He seemed sweet not evil like the ghosts that kept me up all night in my room. Again I had no idea about this place being haunted and I knew nothing about the lost boy until after I left the hotel and and read about him. If you’re interested I can tell you about my whole experience staying one night there. It was truly terrifying.”  (Text message via Facebook)

The email from Joey is below, in its full entirety.

“Hi Paul,

It all began when I decided to fly into Los Angeles the day before I met up with my boyfriend, Jason. I live in New York City and he lives in San Francisco. Sometimes we like to meet up in different cities and explore since our eventual goal is for us to live together on the west coast, but we won’t be living in San Francisco, since we want to live in a warmer part of California. So on this trip we were going to travel around Los Angeles and San Diego. I wanted to get there a day before him so I wouldn’t be jet lagged when we met up, and boy did that not work out! I booked the Mayfair online because I thought it would be cool to be in downtown LA and I loved the Old Hollywood look of the hotel.

When I arrived I wasn’t very happy with the sketchy location, it was depressing to see tents and homeless people all round. I should have researched the West LA area more before booking my hotel. However, when I walked into the Mayfair I liked what I saw. The lobby was beautiful and definitely possessed the old Hollywood grandeur. This illusion of grandeur quickly disappeared once I entered my room, It was such a tiny, drab room, with one of the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen. The uninspiring view from the window of West LA was quite dismal as well, reminding me again in the future to better research an area and not just be looking for the best deal. However, I decided to not let this bother me, it was just for one night and despite how small the room was it did seem comfortable. Since I was tired from my early morning flight and it was only noon I decided I was going to take a quick nap before heading out and exploring the seedy neighborhood I was in. Little did I know this would be the only sleep I would be getting in that room.

When I woke about an hour later I went out for the rest of the day returning to my room around 5:30 that evening. The first few hours back in the room were fine. I was relaxing with some wine and watching a little tv. Around 9:30 to 10pm everything started to change, First I began hearing voices and started feeling like I was being watched. I tried to put it out of my head but it just kept getting worse. Then I felt like someone was trying to break into my room, but when I looked out the peephole no one was there and the hall was completely empty. I can’t explain it but I truly felt like someone was trying to kill me, I kept trying to calm myself down telling myself this is just your imagination. Then I started having visions like I was being stabbed and actually thought I had been murdered. Through all this time I kept hearing the voices talking to me and saying they were going to kill me. My rational mind knew this sounded crazy and I was so freaked out that I called my best friend, Patti, on the East Coast, who was asleep, but saw that it was me calling and picked up. I told her where I was and said I thought someone was trying to kill me. While I was on the phone with her I kept having more visions of myself being stabbed with blood everywhere. I told her I wanted to call the police and even at one point I thought I was already dead and just calling her from beyond just so she would know what had happened to me. She kind of believed what I was saying because I had NEVER had such a crazy conversation with her. Still she was able to keep me from calling the police, telling me if I did they would just think I was nuts. She stayed on the phone with me for a few hours until I finally started to calm down.

Once I got off the phone with her it was around 3 AM and the voices had subsided, I attempted to go to sleep but I was too freaked out so I decided to turn the tv on. I found an episode of “I Love Lucy” and I thought that would soothe me since I have always loved that show, however that didn’t go well either because I felt like Lucy and Desi were watching me and talking about me. I got to thinking how everybody on that show had been dead for a long time and I really got creeped out. I didn’t want to call Patti again so I just changed the channel to an infomercial (which seemed less scary for some reason) and tried to make myself go to sleep, which was impossible. The voices were still taunting me from the tv, but somehow I knew if I could just get through the night everything would be ok by morning. I was right, as dawn approached and the light came through the window the voices began to stop.

Needless to say I was exhausted the next morning and ready to get the hell out of that hotel room. Jason was due to pick me up at 10 AM. Normally I would linger in my room until the last minute primping and preparing to see him but not this time! I got out of there as soon as I could and checked out and waited downstairs in the lobby for his arrival. When I was sitting on the couch in the lobby I looked to my left and realized there was a little boy on the couch with me who appeared to be around 3 or 4 years old. He was very cute and was wearing a little blue jumper. I didn’t understand how he got there without me noticing and I also didn’t see his parents or anyone who was with him. He was just climbing around the couch acting like little kids do and I assumed his parents were somewhere around and had just told him to sit there until they returned. Then Jason arrived and I raced out of there feeling like the little boy was fine and not giving too much thought to him. Honestly his sweet presence gave me some comfort after my night of terror.

As soon as I got in the car I told Jason about my horrible night. He is very much a skeptic so didn’t take it too seriously. I have never reacted this way and am not a person who talks about ghosts, though the idea of them has always intrigued me. I then googled haunted Mayfair Hotel and the first thing I saw was the story about the lost boy. There was no doubt in my mind that I had just met him. It sent a chill down my spine and still does, also I have not been able to watch an episode of “I Love Lucy” since then…

So this is the story of my night at the Mayfair. I knew nothing about it being haunted until after I left and I’m not one to be spooked staying by myself in hotel rooms. This place is definitely haunted and I never want to go back there. I think the lost boy is actually a sweet ghost and in retrospect I think he was there trying to comfort me after my night of horror.

This happened back in 2018, the actual night I spent in the room was 9/28/18. Unfortunately I don’t remember the room number but I researched it and discovered that hotels should have a record of the room number you stayed in. I tried to call the hotel but no one answered and I discovered that since the pandemic it is being used to house the homeless. I also emailed them about the room number, but haven’t heard back from them. I got to thinking about this night again after watching “The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel” on netflix. I then read some more articles in which you were quoted and felt compelled to reach out to you about my experience.

Look forward to hearing what you think about my experience.

Why You Need to Engage a Car Service in Calgary

You can hardly talk about the Canadian oil and gas sector without having some discussion about Calgary. This is because this cosmopolitan city in Alberta is where most of the action takes place.

Many of the leading and upcoming players in the energy industry have stations in this city. It might interest you to know that this is why there are so many high-rise buildings in the area.

Furthermore, we like to think this place is a great city to live in judging by many standards. For more facts about this location, you can visit: https://curiocity.com/calgary/lifestyle/15-interesting-facts-about-calgary-you-might-not-know/

Well, this article is intended to make your stay in this region a thrilling experience. This is because we will discuss how car service companies can be of help. So, keep reading as we walk you through the importance of engaging the services of these companies in Calgary or anywhere else as a matter of fact.

What Is a Car Service Company?

This is a professional service that allows you to hire a car and a driver. The possibility of hiring the driver as well is one of the clear differences between this service and a regular car hire service.

There are tons of reasons why people in Calgary, the entire Canadian nation, and the world at large make use of these services. To know more about this, you should check the subsequent parts of this article.

Why Are Car Service Companies Needed?

Some of the reasons why you might need to engage the service of such a company in Calgary or anywhere else include the following:

Convenience

Traffic in this location can be a nightmare especially during the rush hour periods of the day. To deal well with the situation, some people hire these professionals to lessen the stress.

So, the trained and qualified drivers go through all of the troubles of driving through all of the inconveniences. Frankly, this is better than you going through the ordeal.

Also, the driving experience of the drivers in the region makes things a lot easier for you. This is because they know how to get real-time information on the traffic situation and use it to your advantage. If you are interested in getting real-time traffic reports of the region yourself, you can check here.

Adherence to Regulations

Tourists cannot just pick up a car and zoom off in Calgary. For one, they need to have a license to do this. Well, the thing is that not everyone does and the process can take a while.

So, people who do not want to go through the trouble of calling a taxi can make good use of this service. The professional driver is always on standby and willing to take you wherever and whenever you need to move.

Guide-Like Experience

The city of Calgary is a wonder to behold when it comes to high-rise buildings and beautiful landscapes. However, you will not be able to enjoy the beauty of this city if you are too focused on driving yourself.

Well, you can make good use of these professionals for this reason. You can even ask questions about the city and get all the responses you need while enjoying your ride. The point is that the drivers who know the city well can act as a tour guide to an extent.

Cost-Effective

Especially when moving from this location to neighboring areas, engaging a Calgary car service  is a wise decision. This is particularly when the comparison is with air transport which can be very expensive.

So, this is your best bet if you do not want to stretch your wallet going by air and cannot go through the trouble of driving all by yourself.

Traffic Control

Frankly, this area is one of the livable locations in Canada. But this does not mean it does not present its challenges. One of the problems is heavy traffic during the rush hours and you do not want to be caught up in this.

The good news is that using such a company can help a lot in this regard. This is because there will be fewer vehicles on the road.

Also, people who use this option are very decisive about their movement and so do not transit all the time. This saves them money and reduces the number of vehicles out there.

In case you are curious about other proven ways traffic congestion can be reduced or avoided, you can visit: https://www.smartertransport.uk/smarter-cambridge-transport-urban-congestion-enquiry/

Trusted Hands

These companies are very particular about the kind of driver that they engage. Most of them make sure the drivers are up to the task and great with customers. In other words, you can rest assured that you are in safe hands with these professionals.

Easier Navigation of the Area

These companies have a good understanding of the local route and can use this to your advantage. For instance, they can take safer and quicker alternative routes just in case there is traffic congestion or any other complication along the way. This certainly means that you are likely to arrive at your destination conveniently and quickly.

Competitive Edge

The number of car service companies that ply the Calgary route is increasing. Frankly, this is great news for clients.

Every one of these companies is eager to please and keep their customers as a result of the competition. Some of them offer amazing incentives that are hard to resist.

For instance, some of them have free Wi-Fi access inside the vehicle. So, you can have a great time browsing when you are in transit.

Fun-Filled Experience

The truth is that having a driver take charge of the wheels can also be a fun experience. This is because you can have a meaningful conversation with this professional if you do not mind. So, you may want to do this rather than have a boring driving experience.

Errand Service

Asides from moving you around with the vehicle, some of these companies are into running errand services. So, you may want to engage their service for this reason as well. This is worth it since the time you would have spent running the errand will be channeled towards doing other necessary things.

Time-Saving

You might be wondering how time-saving using this service is considering that you might be able to move faster with your vehicle. Well, the thing is that with a driver on the wheels, you can address other issues in the car.

For instance, you can think about business ideas and come up with innovative solutions in your area of expertise. This is all because you are not on the wheels driving the vehicle. For more on the importance of using a car service company, you can watch this.

Conclusion

In this article, we have shared some of the reasons we think using a car service company for your intra and inter-city movements in Calgary is important. We hope that you make use of this service when the need arises.

Bitcoin Saves Poas Hydroelectric Plants

The owner of the Poas hydroelectric plants was at a loss. With ICE no longer purchasing the electricity and without a legal ability to sell it elsewhere, what were they to do? A genius solution was found for this dilemma.

The answer has to do with bitcoins. Supercomputers linked to the currency use an intensive amount of energy. The consumption they use per year is equal to all the energy used in Argentina or Switzerland in a year.

By February, the owners were offering clean energy to those mining from home. They offer high speed internet, cheap energy, a temperature controlled environment, and even security. 12 hydroelectric workers are back to work restoring the plant for its new use.

The income is equal to what ICE would have paid if it hadn’t cancelled the contract. There are now plans in the works to replicate this offer on a third plant that is scheduled to close next month.

Violence is Overtaking the Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica

A man lost his life as two suspects on a motorcycle passed by firing multiple shots at him. The 42-year-old man was a father of three and a real estate investor about to show a property. The person who was with him was unharmed.

This is the latest in a wave of violence that is overtaking the province of Puntarenas. Since the start of 2021, there have been 39 murders there. About a week ago, authorities met to discuss possible solutions to this terrible problem, solutions which can not come fast enough.

Authorities were alerted to the crime around 7pm on Tuesday. They collected ballistic evidence to analyze. They also found a discarded motorcycle matching the description nearby. The suspects are on the run.

Also on Tuesday night, a 50-year-old man was shot and killed in Goicoechea. He and his 16-year-old cousin were outside a liquor store. Two people approached and without saying anything started shooting. The minor was shot and remains hospitalized.

Restoring the Soul of America Is Secondary

In the past month, since the beginning of a “return to normalcy” in America, there have been 53 mass shootings. Pause for a moment and let that number sink in. Fifty-three. Nearly two a day.

That latest that made the news erupted Thursday night in Cincinnati, where a 19-year-old former Fed-Ex employee opened fire with (of course) an assault rifle, slaughtering eight people before putting himself out of his misery.

Before it became the safely secularized “Build Back Better,” President Biden’s campaign slogan initially was the vaguely spiritual dictum, “Restoring the Soul of America.”

A return to the normalcy of America’s soul-crushing slaughters gives a lie to Biden’s refrain, “We are Americans; we are better than this.” Not to mention the murder-by-cop of black boys and young men by white or wannabe white cops.

Trying to return to the past always makes the future worse. Besides, the relevance of America to the human prospect is not as we were – the flawed beacon of democracy and human rights in a bygone international order. The context is global now, since the ecological and spiritual crisis of humankind has rendered nation-states about as relevant as city-states.

Yet, even during this global pandemic, the tribalism of nationalism continues to rule the modern mind. So the idea that American exceptionalism and international supremacy can be restored along with this nation’s tattered soul is worse than wishful thinking. It’s a prescription for war with (take your pick) Iran, North Korea, Russia or China.

When a people lose their soul, as Americans did nearly 30 years ago, they can recover it, but only after fully acknowledging and mourning its loss. The most dangerous thing about the Biden breather is we take it for more than that, and assume there has been a return to decency and fairness, to the degree they existed before Trump and his ‘base’ of 40 per centers exposed the truth that the mouthpieces of the mainstream media still refuse to face.

Americans pride themselves on being paragons of freedom, but that has about as much meaning as a big BBQ. As these mass murders and murders of young blacks by cops attest, we live in fear of each other, often seething with unseen hatred that erupts again and again in personal or racist violence.

The January 6th attack on the Capitol was not a unique ‘insurrection,’ or even a Proud Boys orchestrated act of ‘domestic terrorism,’ but a political expression of America’s pre-Covid epidemic of violence.

As far as the cops go, we ask too much of the police, while the police ask too little of themselves. Like elementary school teachers, becoming a police officer attracts both the best and the worst types from the culture at large.

It’s no coincidence that the militarization of the police has coincided with the mayhem America generated in Iraq, and the misguided misadventure in Afghanistan. Barack Obama threw away the tremendous moral capital he had as America’s first black president when he doubled down in Afghanistan a year after assuming office.

Given that Biden was then Vice-president, and voted for the monumental war crime of the Bush-Cheney invasion of Iraq, it really rankles that he has now set September 11th as the deadline for withdrawing the last American troops out of Afghanistan. Pull them out if you want to Joe, but don’t remind us of the failed policy that has killed untold hundreds of thousands of civilians.

The deaths from America’s evil wars over the last 20 years mirror the violence Americans perpetrate upon each other every day within the United States. These deaths, as much as the deaths of innocents killed in the weekly slaughters, stain America’s soul. These deaths, like the plethora of entertainment crime shows pornographically depicting acts of murder and rape, attest to the truth that America is a nation that long ago lost its soul.

Joe Biden is a decent man, one that has endured more than his fair share of personal suffering. He’s been doing a workmanlike job so far as president. But a lot more of us will have to go a lot deeper to “recover the soul of America.”

And that’s providing enough of us can think and feel first in terms of humanity, rather than ‘my country.’

Looking For A Property Developer in Falls Church? We Got You

Without the slightest bit of exaggeration, apartment hunting can sometimes seem like an Olympic sport. If you have ever had to go through the trials and tribulations seeking the perfect place to make your home, you know exactly what we are talking about.

Many things factor into deciding on buying property, and any combination has its pros and cons. Namely, if you have a family or are planning on starting one, then you are probably looking for a house somewhere in the vicinity of good schools. You might also want to cut down on commuting and gas costs, in which case you would look for someplace closer to your job.

Perhaps you are one of those who enjoy the tranquility and quietness of the suburbs or maybe a city dweller who is reluctant to part with their urban ways. Whatever your preferences are, the chances are that it is more likely than not that you will struggle to find exactly what you want. Read more about it on this link: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/14/mistakes-millennials-make-when-renting-an-apartment.html

Indeed, nowadays, it can be pretty tricky to snatch a place that fulfills all the requirements on your checklist. Some people find it challenging even after hiring a real estate agent who has all of the offers on the market with them.

The reason for this is that plenty of folks want the same things. Unfortunately, you would not be the first family to want their kids going to the best schools while also having space and freedom to play in the yard in the suburbs. Moreover, the headquarters of companies tend to cluster around the same area of a city, making sense that their employees would look for an apartment nearby.

Taken together, this means that people with specific profiles and needs similar to yours might have already found the ideal place that you are searching for. After all, when you find exactly what you need, you would not let it go, right?

But despite the many challenges out there, things are not that bleak. Even if you can’t cop any of the existing houses and apartments that fit your perfect description, you can still get a chance to live in the place of your dreams. How you might ask. Well, stick with us as we give you an alternative option.

Starting from the ground up

A thought that rarely occurs to prospective homeowners when they are looking for their ideal home is that if they can’t find it, they can build it! Of course, that is not a viable possibility for many as they are usually looking for something right away. For others, though, who can afford the luxury of waiting for the perfect product, it is a no-brainer!

Now, we do not mean that you should roll your sleeves up, take vacation days, and start by setting the foundations of your house by yourself. That is way too demanding, and not to mention, without the right skills and knowledge, it could go catastrophically wrong quickly! Click here to learn more about it.

Instead, what we propose is to hire a property developer. For those unfamiliar with the term, a property developer is an investor that usually purchases a piece of land or an already existing property and either builds a new one or renovates the existing one. Then, they resell it for a certain price, hoping to make a profit off it.

You might be wondering now, well, how is that any different than just purchasing an already built apartment? In the end, you will still have to compete with others to buy a property in a highly sought-after area. However, that is where you are wrong. Buying directly from a property developer can have many benefits.

First of all, you can save a lot of money by purchasing a property straight from the person who built it. That way, you can avoid extra costs like agency fees and real estate agent commissions. Developers such as Norman Ebenstein – Property Developer’s Destiny offer such perks. Moreover, in cases where the building is completely new, there would have been no previous tenants, so you do not have to pay any transfer fees for getting your name on the property.

Secondly, you can avoid the time delay and the hassle that comes with having a middleman. Sure, real estate agents are very useful in certain instances, but when you want to obtain the place as soon as possible, they can be as much help as a hindrance.

Ever heard of the saying “too many cooks spoil the broth”? This is the exact scenario where you do not need more people than the buyer and the seller. Introducing another person in your purchasing process can lead to miscommunication, delays, biased opinions, and mistakes.

Additionally, buying directly from a property developer means that you receive a brand-new property that requires no maintenance or repairs. That is not the case with purchasing houses or apartments that have had tenants in them before. Even if the price seems steep at first, buying new could save you heaps of money on repairmen and servicemen in the long run.

Another reason why you should opt for a property developer is that they follow the latest tech trends when it comes to erecting buildings. Namely, instead of having a regular key for your building entrance, you can have a personalized code that you enter any time you need to get in.

That way, you can rest easy and know that you are safe even in the event of losing your keys. Furthermore, all of the household appliances in the house itself are going to be entirely new and in the latest models, ensuring that they will last you a long time and will not need servicing for a while.

Lastly, a large number of buildings established by property developers offer on-site 24 hours security. That is something that you rarely get with properties bought through agencies, and it can prove invaluable if you have small children. As we all know, no money can replace the feeling of safety and calm!
